We are a non profit organisation aiming to assist rural kids access education opportunities. Established and unleashed from a combined 80-year service and contribution to the Education Sector in South Africa. The former Transkei (now Eastern Cape) -born founders, hail from a region which represented a significant precedent and historic turning point in South Africa's policy of apartheid and separate development, it was the first of four territories to be declared independent of South Africa. Throughout its existence, it remained an internationally unrecognised, diplomatically isolated, politically unstable state, which at one point broke relations with South Africa, the only country that acknowledged it as a legal entity. In 1994, it was reintegrated into its larger neighbour and became part of the Eastern Cape province. It is from this background that the founders of APMF (Mr AP & Mrs NT Madubula) originate from.

The former School Principals bring a story of hope, resilience and courage, as they both have witnessed all odds of being and educating a Rural South African child. Their experience throughout their combined 80 years as educators has taught them that most kids battle to excel in school not because they are academically challenged but because they find it difficult to be inspired while fighting bread and butter issues. Those issues can be broken down to worrying about where they will get money for uniform or whether parents will have funds for them to proceed to high school. This is not because these children have better choices as sadly, this cycle has become an acceptable norm in rural South African communities. Because of these inequalities, the APM Foundation has made assisting kids from disadvantaged background gain access to quality education, one of its main goals. We aim to accomplish this by providing funding and by sending South African students from poor rural backgrounds to have an opportunity to study in various highly rated schools. These are kids that would ordinarily either not continue with their studies due to lack of funds or end up settling for a school that does not provide what they need to excel academically.

We aim to accomplish this by providing funding and by sending South African students from poor rural backgrounds to have an opportunity to study in various  schools. We firmly believe that access to education has a potential to benefit not only the individual but society at large. According to the global partnership for education, Girls and boys who learn to read, write and count will provide a better future for their families and countries. With improved education, so many other areas are positively affected. In short, education has the power to make the world a better place.
